FAST BREAK KIDS
"The Fast Break organization has given many children an opportunity to attend camps who otherwise could not afford to. I’ve seen first hand how a camp can change a child, by the success of one of my former students. Always remember little things do make a difference."
Vince Medici, Oneonta College Head Coach
"I wish I could thank you in person and tell you how grateful I am for you to give a stranger a chance to excel and help reach their goals. I hope one day I can return the favor, if not to you, than to another child or teenager"
Leigh, Richmondville
"I have decided to say a simple ‘thanks’ in hopes that this one word goes straight from my heart to yours. There are millions of young people who are trying to reach their goals and because of your efforts and kindness you have brought one of those young people
one step closer."
Lakeytah, Albany
"When I grow up I would like to be a professional basketball player or a doctor."
Anthony, Glens Falls
"I learned so much in offense, defense, shooting, dribbling and rebounding. This was the greatest opportunity ever."
Tammerie, Albany
"I have learned how to shoot with better form and how to take a lay up the right way and I have made a lot of friends at the camp and my coach was the best."
Zach, Clifton Park
"Since I came here it has been nothing but fun with getting to know new people to old friends and its just like one big family"
Armando, Latham
"A lot of my success has come from Fast Break. It’s not just an organization, I’ve built many relationships and friendships through this program."
Jeremy Prusky
Jeremy Prusky was the first Fast Break recipient. He attended Shaker High School and was a guard for the Varsity Basketball team. He wanted to attend the Koubek Camp before entering into his senior year but he could not afford it. That's where Larry and Tony Hynes, founders of Fast Break, stepped in.

Not only was Jeremy able to attend camp but he became very close to the Hynes brothers. Jeremy started off his college experience at Siena but soon realized it was not the school for him. Thanks to the advice of and help from the Hynes brothers Jeremy transferred to Hudson Valley. He was able to play for the Vikings and helped them reach the NJCAA Division III final eight. After graduating with a 3.7 GPA he transferred to UAlbany but did not try out for the team and instead concentrated on his studies.

Jeremy has just joined PVA in the finance department. He continues to sponsor a child each summer, hoping it will help change another child's life the way it changed his.
